ダイイチラバー
1935年に北海道小樽市で創業したゴム履物メーカー、第一ゴム株式会社のファクトリーブランド。一般的に見られる間接加硫によるヴァルカナイズ製法は、色の再現性が高くムラになりにくいため量産に適しています。一方、直接加硫のヴァルカナイズ製法は色の再現性などは低いものの、生地の柔らかさや耐久性は突出して優れており、専門的な分野で業務用として採用されています。Daiichi Rubber は、経年変化による変化やムラも一つの個性と捉えました。画一的なものが良しとされ時代と共に消えつつある直接加硫ヴァルカナイズ製法の価値を再評価し、ラバーの自然な表情を活かしたプロダクトを展開していきます。
ラカ
北海道の開拓の歴史と共に歩んできた長靴は、雪道での歩行や冬場の除雪、毎日のガーデニングや畑仕事など、生活には欠かせない道具のような存在です。RAKA は、第一ゴムのロングセラーである田植え長靴を様々なシーンに対応できるよう現代にアップデイトさせたラバーブーツです（商品名の RAKA はアイヌ語で「収穫」の意味）。かつてアメリカの農業地帯で用いられたというプルオンタイプのローパーブーツから着想を得て、柔らかいブーツのプルオン（装着）を助けるストラップをあしらいました。さながらレザーブーツのようなクラシカルな面持ちです。ブランドマークを冠した真鍮無垢削り出しのホックが、ラバーの野性的なマテリアルを引き立てつつも上品な印象を与えてくれます。パッカブル仕様になっていて、ベルトを外して巻いて留めることもできます。アウトドアはもちろん、日常使いの相棒としても頼もしい存在になってくれるはずです。
Daiichi Rubber
The product is a factory brand of Daiichi Rubber Co., Ltd., a rubber footwear manufacturer founded in 1935 in Otaru, Hokkaido. The vulcanizing method by indirect vulcanization, which is commonly seen, is suitable for mass production because it has high color reproducibility and is less likely to be uneven. However, although the vulcanizing method of direct vulcanization has low color reproducibility, etc., the softness and durability of the fabric are outstanding, and the method has been adopted for business purposes in specialized fields. Daiichi Rubber regards even the changes and unevenness due to aging as one of its unique characteristics. We intend to re-evaluate the value of the direct vulcanization method, which has been disappearing for generations as uniform products are considered to be best, and we plan to develop products that take advantage of the natural look of rubber.
Raka
Rubber boots, which have historically been a part of Hokkaido's development, are indispensable tools for activities in daily life, such as walking on snowy roads, removing snow in winter, daily gardening, and field work. RAKA is a rubber boot (the product name RAKA means "harvest" in the Ainu language) that is a modern update of the long-selling rice planting boots of Daiichi Rubber so that they can be used in various situations. Inspired by the pull-on type of roper boots that were once used in the agricultural regions in the United States of America, a strap was added to help pull on (wear) soft boots. RAKA has a classical look similar to leather boots. The solid brass hook bearing the brand mark gives an elegant impression while highlighting the rubber material. It is packable and can be wrapped and fastened by removing the belt. It is sure to serve as reliable footwear for everyday use, as well as for outdoors.
