これは「栞」である。少々、大袈裟に聞こえるかもしれないが、読書を愛する人、あるいは、これから読書を楽しみたい人のための、栞となる家具である。読書という行為を可視化することで、読みかけの小説や読破したい新書、いつも手元に置いておきたい画集などの明瞭な居場所となることだろう。
BOOKMARKER は一枚の国産ヒノキ柾目集成材から３つのパーツを無駄なく切り出しており、フラットパッキングが可能。偶然か必然か、無駄無く天板の部材を切り出したことで生じた造形は「個性」となり、同時に内側（使い手側）・外側、双方からの本へのアクセスを容易にした。
This is a “bookmark.” It may sound like an exaggeration, but this piece of furniture functions as a bookmark for those who love to read or wish to enjoy reading more. By making the act of reading visually tangible, it provides a dedicated space for a novel you are about to start, a book you want to finish, or an art book you wish to keep within reach at all times.
Bookmarker is crafted from three parts, cut efficiently from a single piece of vertically laminated Japanese cypress wood, allowing for flat packing. Whether by chance or necessity, the shape formed by cutting the top panel without waste became its defining “individuality,” while also enabling easy access to books from both the inside (user's side) and the outside.
